Junior Clerk arrested by Vigilance on graft charge

Cuttack, Jul 18: Dillip Kumar Rout, Junior Clerk, Office of Superintendent of  S.C.B Medical College & Hospital, Cuttack has been caught red-handed today by the officers of Vigilance, Cuttack Division for demanding and accepting illegal gratification of Rs.5,000/- (Rupees five Thousand) from complainant  Rohit Kumar Nayak of Mangalabag, Kathagolasahi, Cuttack to prepare arrear bill of  7th  Pay Commission  of Sagar Dei (Grand Mother of complainant), retired employee of SCB Medical College, Cuttack.

Accordingly, a trap was laid on 18.7.2018 at about 12:30 P.M. Rout, Jr.Clerk was caught red-handed by the Vigilance officers inside the Office of Superintendent, SCB, Medical College & Hospital, Cuttack while demanding and accepting the bribe of Rs.5,000/- (Rupees five Thousand) from complainant Mr. Nayak. After receiving the bribe money from the complainant, Rout kept the same in his pant pocket. The bribe money Rs.5,000/- (Rupees five Thousand) was recovered from the pant pocket of Rout and was seized in presence of witnesses.  Both hands wash as well as pant pocket wash of Rout gave positive chemical reaction, confirming acceptance and handling of bribe money by him. His residential house at CDA, Cuttack & Govt. quarter at SCB Medical Compound, Cuttack are being searched. Dillip Rout has been arrested and will be forwarded to the Court.

In this connection, Cuttack Vigilance P.S. Case No.36 dt.17.7.2018 U/s 7 Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 has been registered and is under investigation.
